When the rain comes or you don't have wood for a soothing fire, this is the next better-best option! Fire up the oven, because S'more Cobbler Please is sure to have everyone asking for more... in a mannerly way, of course! A rich layering of chocolate pudding, crunchy graham crackers, melty chocolate chips, and creamy miniature marshmallows come together splendidly, without a kindling of firewood in sight! So, mind your manners and grab the best treat under the dessert tent with S'more Cobbler Please. It's raining chocolate... yes, please and thank you!
Ingredients
- For the cobbler:
- 1 (5-ounce) box cook-and-serve chocolate pudding mix
- 3 cups whole milk
- 12 graham cracker squares
- 3/4 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips, divided
- 1 (15-ounce) box chocolate cake mix
- 1/2 cup butter, cold and sliced
- 10 ounces miniature marshmallows
- Optional, for serving:
- miniature semisweet chocolate chips, to taste
- graham cracker squares, to taste, crushed
- whipped cream, to taste
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 -In a large saucepan over medium heat, add the chocolate pudding mix and the milk and cook according to the package directions.
Step 3 -Transfer the pudding mixture from the stovetop to a wire rack and let it cool in the pot, about 15 minutes.
Step 4 -In an ungreased 9x13-inch baking dish, evenly spread the cooled pudding mixture.
Step 5 -In a single layer, add 12 of the whole graham cracker squares on top of the pudding mixture.
Step 6 -Evenly sprinkle the graham cracker layer with 1/2 cup of the chocolate chips.
Step 7 -Evenly sprinkle the dry cake mix over the chocolate chip layer.
Step 8 -Evenly dot the cake mix layer with the cold butter slices.
Step 9 -Bake until the cake is almost cooked through, about 25 minutes.
Step 10 -Transfer the baking dish to a wire rack and stir the cobbler mixture to moisten any dry spots of the cake mix.
Step 11 -Evenly add the miniature marshmallows and 1/4 cup of the chocolate chips to the top of the cobbler mixture.
Step 12 -Bake until the marshmallows are puffy and light brown, about 5-8 minutes.
Step 13 -Allow the cobbler to cool for 15 minutes.
Step 14 -Top the cobbler with the remaining chocolate chips, the graham cracker crumbs, and the whipped cream.
