It's creamy, savory, and loaded with all of your beautifully baked beloveds: juicy chicken, tender veggies, and melty cheese. It's truly a mystical experience! No potion needed; this Magic Chicken Bake will bring awe and wonder to your dining table, just like a rabbit pulled out of a hat. It might feel like wizardry, but it's really just that good! So, get ready, because you're in for a tasty show come dinnertime!
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter, cubed
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 2 cups baking mix, such as Bisquick™
- 2 chicken bouillon cubes
- 1 1/2 cups chicken stock
- 1 (10.75-ounce) can cream of chicken soup
- 2 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless, cooked and shredded
- 2 cups fresh or frozen vegetables, of your choice
- 1/4 cup onion, chopped
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- fresh parsley, optional, to taste, chopped, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 -Place the butter cubes in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish and place in the preheating oven until they melt.
Step 3 -Transfer the prepared baking dish from the oven.
Step 4 -In a large bowl, mix the milk and the baking mix together.
Step 5 -In a small bowl, add the bouillon cubes and the chicken stock and stir to dissolve.
Step 6 -In a bowl, add the cream of chicken soup and gradually mix in the stock mixture to keep it smooth.
Step 7 -Evenly add the chicken to the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Step 8 -Pour the veggies over the chicken.
Step 9 -Evenly sprinkle the onion over the veggies.
Step 10 -Sprinkle the cheese over the onion layer.
Step 11 -Evenly pour the soup mixture over the batter.
Step 12 -Pour the batter over the cheese layer.
Step 13 -Bake the casserole until the top is beginning to brown, about 45-50 minutes.
Step 14 -Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes.
Step 15 -Garnish with the parsley and serve.
